Easter weekend

Saturday morning Jon and I took Kane to the Easter egg hunt at the Hill Aerospace Museum.  There were 11,000 eggs and it took the kids (and their parents...) like 5 minutes to grab them all.  It was crazy!  Kane loved to pick up the eggs but he was less than willing to let them go.  I tried to show him that we have to put the eggs in the basket but after he let me put three in the basket he was done.  He held on tightly to the next two eggs.  So, we ended up with 5 eggs.  Which was perfect.  Kane was very happy with his loot.

Not wanting to let his two eggs go made it difficult for Kane to climb, which was a bit frustrating for him.  He definitely has a stubborn streak.

I think Kane was trying to figure out how to grab the eggs in the basket while still holding the two in his hand.

Saturday afternoon we headed to the park to enjoy the beautiful day.

Kane was playing peek-a-boo.

Kane is checking out his Easter basket on Easter morning.

He liked his Elmo egg.

Don't be fooled, Kane shares well, but he usually wants it back pretty quickly. :0)

I made Kane a bunny-cake, he loves pancakes, he ate TWO!

He really liked the cow marker that came with his "My First Crayola" set.  He didn't do a whole lot of drawing though.

Headed to Fresno

My friend Brooke recently moved to California with her four boys.  Kane and I decided that while Jon was away in Colorado at the Academy, we would head to Fresno for a visit.

My friend Jessica, who lives in Vegas, agreed to watch Basher and Lucy.  We drove down there to drop the dogs off and then flew out from Vegas.  While we were only there for a short period, we did manage to visit the park and check out some birds.  It was so funny, we were walking up to a group of birds when one of the bigger birds squawked at us very loudly.  I screamed and scooped Kane into the air, I think my scream scared Kane more than the bird.

I love this picture, it was taken outside of Brooke's aunt and uncle's house.  Kane was holding a rock.  I just love the pose!

Daniel, Brooke's third son, celebrated his 5th birthday during our visit.  It's so nice to be able to see all the Jimenez boys growing up!

We went for sushi.  Kane loved the sweet potato tempura and garlic edamame.  He won't eat a noodle of any type, or rice, but he will eat sweet potatoes and edamame!  I am not complaining.

There is a place called Jon's Incredible Pizza, it's similar to Chuckie Cheese, but more rides and better food.  Cristian is riding the bumper cars.

Cristian and Gabriel made sure that Kane was a part of all the fun, he really enjoyed himself!

Alex managed to wiggle his way onto a high platform all by himself!

Kane and I rode on a train of cars, he doesn't look too sure in this picture...

Gabriel jumping for joy at Storybook Land.

Daniel is headed down the slide in the house from Goldilocks And The Three Bears.

This is a castle in Storybook Land, it was a very cute park.

Humpty Dumpty (pre-fall)

Kane really enjoyed Brooke's cat, Rain.  Rain enjoyed Kane a bit less, he would climb under the bed.  Kane finally decided that he would follow Rain.  He looked like Pooh when he gets stuck in holes.  It was pretty comical.

Fortunately, the plane was very empty so we were able to use Kane's car seat for our return trip.  It was so nice having two free hands!  Kane enjoyed his ride too.  The guy in front of Kane may not have enjoyed it so much though, I couldn't get Kane to stop kicking his seat.

Finally, we made it home.  Our trip was great but it's always nice coming home.

Discovery Children's Museum

Due to a couple of nice days, Kane and I have been able to get out and enjoy the parks in our area.  Today was rainy and snowy so it was a perfect day to head to the Discovery Children's Museum at The Gateway in Salt Lake.  We had a really good time, I see many more visits in our future.

The first exhibit you come to has tons of balls and tons of different tubes that you can send them through either by dropping them, or by putting them in a tube that has air that shoots them up.  It was very cool.  There was also other exhibits, like the ball popper Kane is at in the picture.  He dug it.

Kane enjoyed climbing in the cars that they had on display but he would always sit backward.  He still sits in his car seat facing backward, so maybe he thinks that is the normal way to sit.

This water area was popular with all the kids, and Kane was no exception, he loved it.  He is a water bug anyway so it was no surprise he was drawn to the water exhibit.

This garden area had plastic potatoes, carrots, lettuce, and onions.

Kane carried a potato throughout the museum, and tried to eat it a few times.  Such a silly boy!

Kane's in a boat, and that is how he got in too, he crawled.

Kane looked at this girl like she was crazy when she was trying to help him open and shut the refrigerator.  You could tell he didn't want any help.

Kane LOVED this area!  He walked up, crawled up, walked down, crawled down, and slid down this slope, he was obsessed.  I think we could have spent our entire visit here.

This area had magnets of all different types.  Kane tried to take two home, he wasn't happy when I put them back.
Here are a few videos I took.  I was so proud watching Kane walking up the ramp.  He really has great balance.  I got a kick out of the last two videos.  He definitely figures out how to get where he wants to go.

We had a fantastic visit.  I look forward to summer when we come down to this area of town and Kane can play in the outside water area at The Gateway after a visit to the museum.  This is such a fun age!
