For the Birds
Today we decided to head to Liberty Park in Salt Lake. Jon had never been and none of us had been to Tracy Aviary. Kane LOVES birds and I have been wanting to take him for some time but we have been so busy. We all had a great time!
He was so excited when I told him to go look at the birds.
Kane went into pointing mode right away. Some birds he liked more than others, some were hard to see so he had less interest.
Kane and I loved the brightly colored birds, so pretty!
This guy had such a neat tail feather!
Jon noticed this peacock on the roof of a building. I know birds land on roofs but I haven't seen too many peacock sized birds on roofs!
There were several places you could press a button and hear particular sounds of birds. Kane likes to push buttons so this may have been his favorite part. :)
"Look Mom, flamingos!"
They were pretty neat.
Kane's love of peek a boo came in handy, it helped us to get a great big smile for this picture!
After the aviary we walked around the rest of the park.
FINALLY Kane actually had ice cream. For some time now he wouldn't even try ice cream. It was so strange. Well today he couldn't get enough of it! The hot dogs at Liberty Park are FANTASTIC btw! I am still talking about them. My dog really hit the spot!
We stopped by the playground and Kane was particularly happy with this slide.
This was the scene minutes after leaving the parking lot. I would say Kane was funned out!

Mastering Steps
Kane's favorite thing these days are steps, so we decided he should learn how to go down them safely. He has been good climbing them since he was crawling but he has just gotten fairly comfortable going down them. When I ask him if he wants to go down the stairs, he races right over to the baby gate that separates them. I swear, he could go up and down the stairs for an hour. It's the simple joys!
